This topic deserves more exploration and analysis. As an older single woman, I've often wondered why younger generations of men seem drawn to women like me on dating apps and platforms. Setting that aside, I've noticed a lot of political finger-pointing in the comments from the left and right, and the issues they raise contribute to the larger discussion.
I've observed outright hostility toward men in some feminist circles, especially within queer communities. Often, the people expressing this anger have experienced significant harm, abuse, toxic masculinity, or neglect, which understandably shapes their perspectives. However, this, unfortunately, sweeps many good men into the crossfire.
There was a time when society valued genuine sociology and science, but that interest seems to have waned. Figures like Jordan Peterson, who present pseudo-scientific ideas, have stepped into the void, exacerbating hatred on the right while fueling contempt and pushback from the left. Gender-based divides in politics have deepened this wedge, with elections increasingly polarized along these lines. Additionally, women leaning toward the left are often more open to exploring relationships beyond traditional cis-het norms, which further challenges the status quo and lessens the dating pool for men.
