“So Long, Humans, Your Lease on The Planet Has Expired!”
“When you gonna write again, Constance?”
I get this a lot from friends and followers, and the desire has been there, but I have struggled. Whenever I attempt to write, I realize our world is fractured and fragmented. If I write about personal experiences, they intersect with political problems, and then I have to reveal that I’m a political independent. That’s right, and you think you know hate? Try being someone who refuses to join the new and trendy political war. So I thought about how we could save ourselves as a species and write about those things. The more I think about those topics, the more I see what’s happening in the world and conclude we lack the attention span to save ourselves. So far, the only thing we all seem to have in common anymore is we’re about to go extinct.
Liberalism, Conservatism, culture wars, and religion seem to center around the purpose of carrying the “proper values” of the human race into future generations. We are so busy being at war with ourselves to realize there aren’t going to be any future generations of humanity. Before you write me off as “one of them” or an alarmist, I would encourage you to read on for a bit, as this isn’t a partisan propaganda piece, a doomsday prophesy, or even a “bad trip.” This is just the perspective of a political and societal outsider who has taken a break…
