3 years into transition with no surgery yet, I can tell you HRT absolutely changed my orientation. I went into this expecting to stay a lesbian, and now I am officially straight. I don't think it happens to too many of us, but HRT plays a role in orientation, especially with people who are more naturally wired to accept estrogen. I am not neurodivergent or autistic or bipolar, or even ADHD. I was depressed before, but I'm most certainly not now. Before transitioning, the thought of the male form (other than maybe the thought of penetration) revolted me. Now I draw comfort from the idea of the close male embrace and long for a feeling of safety and security I perceive male energy brings.
This is not a convenient turn of events. Most trans women in my circles are Transbian or lesbians. It is hard to find a man with enough emotional maturity to consider a serious relationship with a trans woman. So while you are likely not to have an effect from HRT, remember the possibility is not zero.
Oh, and as for the comment on the weight, it is 100% true, and why I haven't had surgery yet. It is not worse than cis women, but our stomach doesn't necessarily transition, so we have to retrain it to eat according to our new bodies—smaller portions, less meat, and dealing with the new cravings for chocolate and stress eating.
